I own an old Mitutoyo caliper which my dad bought when he was studying to become an electrician about 50 years ago. It is a beautiful tool with sentimental value which I still use every day. The sheath it came in was made of some sort of plastic, brown sheet material. After years of use the old sheath was cracking and ripping where the flap would bend while opening and closing the sheath. I decided to make a new sheath for it from genuine leather in order to protect, store and use the caliper for many more years to come.
